Completing the Puzzle

I'm not very good at putting artistic ideas into words. It was a struggle to explain to a client about how all the blocks in the grid pattern not only have to relate to the ones adjacent, but also create an overall pleasing composition. So it is that I am at the end of the design process. My mind is constantly working on how to complete this painting, no matter what else I may be doing. I woke up thinking of it this morning.

I can't really take pictures of the painting now -- but I think I will get a helper to hang it higher on the wall so I can get some good shots of it once the puzzle has been solved.

And this afternoon I have a call scheduled to discuss the next big painting.

I also got some inkjet film samples in the mail yesterday. I have some new ideas and want to play with that stuff -- it's hard not to play with a new toy!

The photo above is what the cherry blossoms really look like in February.
