My Final Answer
It's finished. There's a big enlargement if you click on the image, which I will be removing in a few days.
I have another grid project that's been hanging around for months. The designer gave final approval to both 36x36 paintings yesterday. I did a total of 22 designs to get to that point. I have totally lost interest in that project (understandably), and was further insulted yesterday when she said that nobody is sicker of it than she, and for THAT amount of money she would get what she wanted! ha! My response was that my schedule is full at the moment. Sorry. So I am going to sit on it and do something else.
Spoke to my other client about the next big grid and got some design direction. This one will be installed in Arizona, so I will probably lighten the palette some.
In the meantime I have been playing with my Washington photos, my new tablet monitor and my new color Efex software. Fun!

Love it, Robin.
It seems more structured and controlled than your others, not that there's anything wrong with that !!!
Hope you're able to get it out of the studio.
: )
I especially like it when two grids combine... I'd like it even more if sometimes they would 'morph' together just a bit, like a branch extending into an adjacent space, or two totally different scenarios but same color. So many ways to expand on the idea.
I like your grid paintings very much. It's like doing a bunch of small paintings. If I want to see what my "grid" would look like, I just have to put the little ones together on the wall in a square pattern!
