Love Letter

I have resurrected this image from my archives. It is part of the Bulgarian Icon series, a mixed media piece on canvas board, with maps, transferred images, Conte, and acrylics. It tells the story of a village woman visiting her husband's grave and leaving a letter in the decorative metal box.
The weather has cleared here in San Fran, and it's blue skies and perfect temps. I am meeting my artist friend Helen for lunch in Berkeley. Her dog is ill and she doesn't want to venture too far from home, so we'll walk to a restuarant on 4th St.
Yesterday I took the ferry to downtown San Francisco. My feet got tired before I did. This is definitely a walking city. My camera got heavy early on, but I'm glad I had it with me to capture the sights. I'm going back tomorrow with friends.
Happy Valentine's Day!
