Sitting on My Butt
Two meetings yesterday are requiring design time which I do on the computer. Which means I've been sitting on my butt all day! The first is the cover of the Dallas Bar Association member directory. The photo above is the Belo mansion in downtown Dallas where the Bar offices are located. I took some regular shots, but on this one I used my new "Lensbaby". It's a cute little lens that allows blurred shots with a small focus area. Very artsy! I've been working on different ideas, but haven't had any lightning bolts yet. I've decided to donate the cover artwork, both the original and the rights to publish. It's a huge organization and I think it would be a good career move.
In other design news, I met with the client who is designing her own grid paintings (that she wanted delivered this week hahaha). Once we picked some imagery, I came back and spent half of the day re-designing one of the paintings. I just heard back that she doesn't like it at all. I'm sick of the whole project by now.
And on the heels of that grid project, comes another. I just got a purchase order for a 12' x 6' grid painting. This is the biggest one yet. And it gets shipped to California. How do you suppose they do that??
And I'm in another hotel project in Florida, 11 pcs. All kinds of things, photo boxes with resin, some giclees, some big original paintings. Will be fun.
