Life Savings

I saved a friend's life this week. I wasn't especially heroic, just in the right place at the right time. We got to the hospital after his heart stopped, but the doctors were able to bring him back.

The next day I had a terribly unpleasant encounter with a rude client. While she criticized me personally, and attacked the quality of my work, I seethed. Later, once I had put things in perspective, I wrote her an email, as empty of emotion as possible, announcing that I didn't think I could meet her expectations and that she should pursue hiring another artist. Yes, I fired a client.

That all happened a few days ago. My friend is recovering, and I haven't heard from my ex-client, which I'm really happy about!

Life's too short, you know.

Wow! What a week you've had!

Nice that you were able to put it all in perspective, see what was important...good that you dismissed the rude client, and absolutely fabulous that you were in the right place and thinking clearly, to be able to help you friend!

good for you, you work way to hard to have clients like that in your life.

Good on you, on both counts. My husband's an ambulance officer so I know all too well how important your quick action was. And who needs grumpy ill-mannered people in their lives?
