Keeping it Simple

After my painting fiasco from yesterday, today I'm keeping it simple. I've painted the two new images above (Fresh Flowers series). Easy process, which always helps to get me back on track. I am reusing a process from at least 8 years ago. I painted the composition first. Then stared at it for days wondering what would come next.

Then one day I was driving home past a field of swaying wildflowers. Stopped the car, yanked up a handful of gallardia, came home and scanned the flowers. I scaled the scans, printed, then traced the outline onto the painted surface. Then painted in the chocolate color. Voila!
