Unexecutable

I have trapped myself! In two current projects I have agreed to do things I don't know how to do. The first one, literally entitled "Fish Palm" (shown above) is a digital mockup of a painting on canvas. It's hard to see here, but the trunk of the tree is made up of small fish images. I did a little digital sketch of a fish and made it into a brush in Photoshop, so it was easy (5 min) to do the mockup. Now I have the order for the painting (six feet tall!) and my palms are sweaty(pun intended!). How am I going to paint it??

The second one is my popular photo panels. These are 90" long, which is not the problem. I've done these almost that big before, but not in this format. The image will be divided in two, horizontally (!), with the top being a photograph, and the bottom painted. The paintings are only 24" tall, so I end up with the photography element being 12" x 90". How am I going to do THAT?

jeeeeezzzzz.....

Plus, you've got all your fans watching to see how you do it! No pressure, we'll keep quiet and just breathe down your neck ;-)

Hi Robin,

Carve a stamp out of the Speedball pink rubber printing "stuff" (they have it at Michael's or Hob Lob), then stamp that onto the canvas using acrylic paints.

Yeah, what bobbi c. said. Make a fish stamp.

Not sure I "get it" about why printing a long skinny photo is so much different that just printing a long one. But I know you will figure it out. Knowing you, you make have done so already.

Let us know how this unfolds, okay?

I agree about the stamp, but I would make at least three that differed slightly in size and shape, so it would look more hand-done.

Hey I have a feeling you do the same thing I frequently do -- say "yes" and then figure how "how the heck."

Hum.......first thing I thought of was the Oriental method I can't remember the name of now. THey actually use a real fish and put paint on and monotype it onto the paper.......neat looking.

I know nothing about digital printing so no help from me there.
