Setting Priorities
I am traveling to Washington DC next weekend. There was a special weekend fare at American Airlines. An internet search for a hotel room took me to the usual places, Hotwire, Orbitz, Expedia, Priceline. Those searches brought me in a roundabout way to the Wyndham website which has a "winter" special for only $79. That makes it a cheap weekend. I hear that the cherry blossoms are already blooming. My goal is to photograph all the major monuments in day and night. Hope it doesn't rain.
And of course since I have a trip planned, all my clients are calling with short deadlines. I even had an email with someone I was soliciting two years ago! They said they hadn't forgotten about me, and want to include my work in a presentation for a healthcare project in the "southwest". I'm thrilled! I know how dangerous it is to depend on one client, and I'm always trying to expand my client base. It's hard to do when that one client keeps me so busy!
The grid painting is coming along. I've made a huge mess in my studio. In addition, I have promised six landscapes for completion on Monday, what was I thinking??
This morning I have been running between the studio and the keyboard. I designed three new grid paintings, these only 36" sq each. But the client is in a terrible rush (of course). Again I am asking myself, "what do I do first?" yikes!
