Photo Shoot - Cancelled!
It's 4:00 pm in Washington DC. Little light is left in the day, and the air is alive with swirls of snowflakes. It reminds me of my "art trip" to NYC last February. Even though it's the same time of year, I'm in a different city and didn't expect the whiteout we are now experiencing.
Made it to the National Gallery of Art and visited the Cezanne exhibit. It was worth standing in line for. Because the weather was getting so bad we grabbed a cab and headed back to the Wyndham. We bundled back up and went to the closest Rite Aid for provisions. Now we have a refrigerator full of soft drinks, and the snacks we brought from home. I'm not even sure that we will make it out of here for dinner.
Our room is on the highest floor and we look out over both the city and the atrium. Right now I am enjoying the storm from the warmth of this vantage point. Photos didn't work out today. I was totally paranoid about getting moisture in my camera. Got a few shots of the Capitol this morning, but the light was bad. Took some shots in the Botanic Gardens of luscious orchids. And that's about it.
The storm is expected to move out quickly leaving 8-12 inches of snow behind. Hopefully the hop-on-hop-off trolleys will run tomorrow, that's our travel plan for the day.
