Brain Strain

Learning programming for websites is just like learning any other kind of language (like French!) - it's hard. My brain hurts. I have books on CSS, PHP and MySql. I have downloaded numerous tutorials. I am held back by not knowing the basics - the definitions of the terms. I am starting in the very beginning, even though I do know a bit of html. Whew! I keep telling myself that I should just choose a package program and be done with it. But I want what I want, and I can't find a way of getting it painlessly. Besides, I think brains fit into that category of things that if you don't use it you lose it.

So I am working on three websites, art-girls.com which is my main website for paintings, texasphotographystudio.com which showcases my photography under a psuedonym, and a new photography site that's not populated yet. In the midst of mental strain to understand the layouts and programming, I am also looking with a critical eye at my photography. Some of the galleries I have completely deleted and started fresh with new images. Which means that I have been on the computer for days processing images.

The N grid painting was installed yesterday, and all reports are favorable. The principals of the company offices where it hangs love it! That's good news.

Have an appointment this morning to discuss a new hotel project. Good to get out of the house and away from this computer for awhile.
