Art from Nothing

It's amazing how short the window of opportunity can be. Even though a hotel takes more than a year to design and build, the artwork is often chosen in a matter of minutes. Late yesterday afternoon my client called and asked me to submit concepts for room art on a project that she just got blueprints for. She had one day to prepare, I had less. She emailed me the colorboard. During the evening hours I took photographs of paintings I have done in the past, changed the colors, added new elements, and modified them to fit with the palette of the design. I submitted 35 different images. By 7:00 am they had been emailed to my client, printed out and submitted to the design firm. All because of the magical machine, the computer.
