Doing Nothing

It's called Black Friday. It's this day that retailers measure the profitability of the whole year.

For me it was low impact. I stayed in my pajamas deliciously late...even went outside to feed the horses in my flannels! I am out in the country on 10 acres of land, 25 miles from Santa Fe. I am alone and there are no rules. I watched old movies on TV. I stood outside in the wind. I took my camera for a short drive. My mind kept wanting to create things. I just told it to be quiet. I sat in the hot tub under the impossibly blue sky.

Late in the afternoon when I was admiring the light, I went over to pet the horses. I got out the brushes and rubbed them down, and gave them a snack. That was the best part of the day.
